Permanency of Giclee Prints and Other Reproductions
http://www.spenceguerin.com/prntrepr.html#printinks
Excellent information about original prints and reproductions by the artist Spence Guerin. He explains the types of orignal prints that artists make. He explains the limitations of reproductions. Artists use permanent materials to make original prints. The inks used in reproductions are not permanent. Lightfast pigments are used by artists. Inks used in reproductions will fade and are not considered to be permanent or lightfast.

Parrots in Art
http://www.flickr.com/groups/1825785@N22/
http://www.museumvoorpapegaaien.nl/
Websites for the Parrot Museum. If you like parrots, you will enjoy these two websites. The Flickr site has works involving parrots such as painting, drawing, fabric design, crafts, sculpture, ceramics, and more.
My parrots collages were selected to show on their Flickr site. Their statement: "The purpose of this research is to examine big issues in parrot art. The plan of the research will be to set forth how each artist spins tales around the confrontation of the parrot with the human world."
If you want to see these collages enlarged, clicking on pictures will take you to larger images on my Flickr site.
"Parrot Talk, #1". Sold, but I may do more artwork based on this idea. I would like to make a print of it, but cannot until I learn how to clean up the image.
"Garden Forms with Parrot." A large reproduction of this collage is available. It is on heavy paper. The original will not be for sale until my collage art show.
For great information, search Google articles and images for: "Parrots in art" and "Symbolism of parrots in art."

When buying art, they maintained a few strict rules. Each piece had to be affordable. It had to fit in their apartment. It had to be of a size that could be carried home by subway or taxi. They vowed never to sell any artwork in their collection. They collected to enrich their own lives with art they found to be beautiful.

Parts of Kevin's statements that introduce readers to his sites ----
" I like a lot of different styles of painting. I have had an active interest in art for the past few years, and my tastes are still evolving as I learn and live with my growing collection. I do not collect as an investment but for the fun of it and to feed my enjoyment for doing research and learning."
" I am an art collector who enjoys collecting art by artists who are not well documented, or not documented at all, and then documenting them on my art collection web site."
An unsigned painting. Artist unknown. Probably from the 1930s. It came from an estate sale in Hopewell, NJ, in 2009. Seller said it was painted in the "New Hope School Style." Oil on canvas board. Size 22 X28" Contact Kevin if you know the name of the artist.
